Debs was the first of our twin daughters to die, she died of acute liver failure aged 28 years. Debs had a twin sister Diane, but Debs was the quieter of the two, she was very shy but so cute, she was a total delight till she got to Comprehensive School then we think she started to drink to give her confidence and compete with Diane, as the years went on her drinking got worse and worse, we went through nightmares with her. It would take weeks to tell you everything we went through, so will cut a long story short, Debra found a boyfriend John and they got a house and were living together, John liked a drink aswell but he was not as bad as Debs, she always wanted to get married so we decided to ask her if she would like to go ahead with it, she was delighted and we thought it would give her something else to think about apart from drinking all the time. Unbelievably she got worse, she was almost always drunk and would phone me (her mam) dozens of times a day and night saying the silliest of things and just repeating things every time she phoned, not remembering she had just phoned me 10 minutes ago and told me the same thing. We tried everything to try and help her, but she was in and out of hospital, so we had no choice but to cancel the wedding, she was distraught, but we told her when she got better we would go ahead with it again, she tried to accept this, but she did not get any better and 3 weeks after she should have been married she went into a coma, she never came round. She was buried in her wedding dress as she adored it and never got to wear it, she looked so beautiful, so sad and we miss her so much. Loving you always your Mam & Dad
